@5thchildmusic Breaks Down #MCWG w/ #TheProcess: "My Conversations..."

The first track, "My Conversations..." was produced by Traxx On Deck and features a soundbyte from the movie Fresh. It's one of the most powerful scenes in the movie IMO. The song was really based on these real life conversations that Brett Johnson and I have all the time about not really having a blueprint to follow to achieve success in the music industry. In the movie clip, Sam Jackson is playing Fresh's dad and is just telling him that he's going to have to suck it up and face these challenges without waiting for someone to hold your hand anymore. At the same time, sometimes I feel like God has been preparing me for every situation that I encounter and I can't get scared now. I have to do what he built me to do.

5th Child Releases 7th Album: My Conversations with God

On October 17th, 5th Child released his 7th solo album, My Conversations with God. This 12-track LP is produced entirely by 5th with the exception of three songs. My Conversations with God features fellow Mississippi artists 7evenThirty, Kerry Thomas, Eunice, and Drew McKercher. 5th Child- Child Support EP (2015). On October 17, 2015, 5th Child will release his 7th studio album entitled My Conversations with God. Rather than crowd-sourcing via popular sites such as GoFundMe, Kickstarter, etc., 5th Child has released a 5-song EP entitled the Child Support EP which will be available to listeners by donation. Listeners are encouraged to make a donation in the amount of their choosing to offset production costs of the full-length album. All of the unreleased tracks on the Child Support EP are produced, mixed, and mastered by 5th Child. Hard copies are available at select retailers as well.

Third Coast emcee 5th Child tackles the harsh stereotypes about his hometown in the satirical new single “What You Need” from his upcoming album My Conversations with God. 

“What You Need” (dir. by Theca Jones) features 5^th Child starring as a dealer of all the world’s ills while pointing the finger at a culture that demonizes drugs yet gives a hypocritical pass to junk food.

My Conversations with God is 5^th Child’s 7^th studio album and will be released independently on October 17, 2015. The entire project is self-produced with the exception of three tracks (including “What You Need” prod. by Y. Valentine) and will be available on most digital retailers upon its release.
